Nicol David inducted into hall of fame

28-year-old women’s squash world no.1 Nicol David gets herself into the World Squash Federation Hall of Fame.

Gunning for a record sixth Women's World Open title in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Nicol David will be bestowed with the highest honour in women's squash, an induction into its Hall of Fame at a ceremony there as well.

The 28-year-old Malaysian from Penang is the second longest person to have held the World No.1 spot (since 2006), and is heralded by most as the game's living legend.

Racking up a monumental 55 WISPA (Women's International Squash Players Association) titles, and equalling the great Sarah Fitz-Gerald's record of 5 World Open titles, Nicol is the undisputed queen of the squash court. She looks to break Fitz-Gerald's record this coming week by making it a total of 6 titles.

Speaking to The Star, Nicol is evidently nowhere near being done, and is up for more glory, and with it more titles. Speaking of her induction into the Hall of Fame, Nicol said, "This does not mean I am ready to ride off into the sunset. I am far from finished even though I have been playing the professional circuit for over 10 years."
