BUST-boosting padding in a bra – dubbed chicken fillets – saved a woman from death in a head-on car smash.
Lisa Somerville was taken to hospital with a punctured lung, cracked ribs and a broken nose.
“I was in a bad way but I was still breathing,” she said.
“As doctors peeled back my clothes to get a better look at the damage, they noticed the skewered ‘chicken fillets’ inside my bra. I was told that my ribs would have pierced my heart without them.”
The mum-of-one added: “I was doubling up, wearing four altogether.
“They gave me the extra protection that actually saved my life.” Lisa, 28, started wearing implants when she was jealous of her bustier pals as a teenager.
She said: “I hated my chicken fillets, constantly fearing they’d fall out at the most embarrassing moment. But that night, for the first time, I was glad of them.”

The receptionist, of Kirkintilloch, near Glasgow, who has a daughter Jodi, eight, added: “I couldn’t believe something I’d hated for so long saved my life.”
But Lisa added: “I’d wanted a boob job from the age of 12 and the attention after the accident was the final straw.”
So, in September last year, after recovering from the 2009 crash, she splashed out £4,600 to boost her breasts from 30AAA to 30E.
She said: “I’m 10 times happier than I’ve ever been. I’m even giving my new boobs a birthday celebration I love them so much.
“But I’ll always thank the chicken fillets that saved me.”
