Facebook Isn’t Suing Employers Who Ask for Your Password … Yet

Facebook took a strong stance against employers who request account passwords from potential employees on Friday, saying it would “take action to protect the privacy and security of our users, whether by engaging policy makers or, where appropriate, by initiating legal action.”
Now the social network seems to be softening its stance. In a clarifying message sent to reporters, a Facebook spokesperson issued this statement:
We don’t think employers should be asking prospective employees to provide their passwords because we don’t think it’s right the thing to do. While we do not have any immediate plans to take legal action against any specific employers, we look forward to engaging with policy makers and other stakeholders, to help better safeguard the privacy of our users.

Windows XP has turned 10 year old

Windows XP has turned 10 years old. And over the last decade, quite a bit has happened with the operating system. It launched to much fanfare and quickly became one of the best desktop operating systems ever launched. As its popularity soared, it helped people in emerging markets enter the Windows ecosystem. Even after it was replaced by Windows Vista in 2007, the operating system refused to die, holding on to this very day. But there were also some issues with Windows XP. As enterprise users know all too well, the operating system suffered from security woes that caused some companies to lose data and worse, see their networks broken into. The operating system unfortunately didn’t reach a level of security that many users had hoped for at launch. There are quite a few things, good and bad, to remember about Windows XP now that it has turned 10.

TeaMp0isoN releases list of vulnerable police web sites

TeaMp0isoN has found 6 vulnerable police web sites that can be hacked by using simple SQL injection attacks.  One of the member created a pastebin note with following message for the people of the world.

I do not like the Police. You beat on innocent and peaceful protesters for no reason other than that you want to protect your friends at the banks and yourselves to make money. It's all about money and the Police aiming to keep their job.
Why did I decide on not releasing the databases? I want you to see for yourself how vulnerable these people really are and for you all to get an understanding on why I didn't release.

In this release I present you vulnerable websites that are open to MSAccess SQL injection. Below are official city websites that also the Police of that said area uses for their updates. Of course with all the money they make they couldn't spend a dime to invest into their security to make sure no breaches are bound to happen, they let petty vulnerabilities that still exist on their websites stay there with no fix.

Whatever you are storing fellow below cities, which I've seen from table names it isn't good, you better hope the rest of the Community who is smart doesn't find out what's to see ;-) You should of expected me a long time ago, now the realness is setting free the cage.

Again, 'Massive' Water On the Way to Bangkok

BANGKOK, Oct 27 — Floods swamped a new area of Thailand’s capital yesterday as some shops rationed food and Bangkok’s governor warned of “massive water” on the way that could put many parts of the sprawling city in danger by the end of the week.
Large-scale evacuation was under way in Bang Phlad, a riverside area some way from Bangkok’s inundated northern districts, as floods hit the capital on a second front, deepening anxiety in the city of 12 million people, many of whom were expected to flee before a flood-proclaimed five-day holiday.
“Now we’re at a critical moment, we need to monitor the situation closely from 28-31 October, when many areas might be critical,” Bangkok Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra told reporters yesterday. “Massive water is coming.”
Sukhumbhand said 90 per cent of the northern Don Muang district was under water and Bang Phlad was in a critical situation. Fourteen city districts were threatened by floods and two more could be hit today, he said.
Thailand’s worst flooding in half a century has killed at least 373 people since mid-July and disrupted the lives of nearly 2.5 million, with more than 113,000 in shelters and 720,000 people seeking medical attention.
